Sony Pictures Classics Wins The VENICE Film Festival Award

Sony Pictures Classics wins at the Venice festival . Their film PARALLEL MOTHERS opened the Italian festival to a 9-minute ovation and far critical acclaim and closed the festival yesterday with leading actress Penélope Cruz winning the simplest Actress Award.

Written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar, PARALLEL MOTHERS follows two women, Janis and Ana, as they coincide during a room where they’re getting to give birth. Both are single and have become pregnant accidentally . Janis, middle-aged, doesn’t regret it and she or he is exultant. The other, Ana, a teenager , is scared, repentant and traumatized. Janis tries to encourage her while they move like sleepwalkers along the hospital corridors. The few words they exchange in these hours will create a really close link between the 2 , which accidentally develops and complicates, and changes their lives during a decisive way.

See-Venom: Let There Be Carnage India Release Date Is October 15

In addition to Cruz, the film also stars Aitana Sánchez Gijón, Milena Smit, Israel Elejalde, Julieta Serrano and Rossy de Palma.

PARALLEL MOTHERS will have its US premiere as Closing Night Selection at the new York festival . Sony Pictures Classics will release the film on December 24, 2021.
